Math for the Future (M4TF) is a mathematics education consulting group dedicated to supporting national organizations, state education agencies, nonprofit advocacy organizations, and districts. M4TF focuses on strengthening mathematics teaching and learning, smoothing transitions across K–12 and higher education, expanding opportunities, and improving student outcomes.
We partner with organizations and educators to provide research-informed technical assistance, professional learning, and customized support that strengthens mathematics systems, practices, and learning environments and helps every learner experience meaningful mathematics.

Ted Coe, Ph.D., brings extensive experience in mathematics education across K–12 and postsecondary settings. His work focuses on mathematics pathways, state-level initiatives, and improving transitions from high school to college and careers. He has been a high school mathematics teacher, community college professor and chair, assistant dean, and has served as Director of Mathematics at Achieve and Vice President at NWEA and is currently on the executive committee of the Conference Board of the Mathematical Sciences (CBMS). He is the lead author on the book Decluttering Mathematics: 5 Fundamental Understandings That Unleash Student Thinking.Ted Coe, Ph.D., brings extensive experience in mathematics education across K–12 and postsecondary settings. Joleigh Honey, M.Ed, has 30+ years of experience as a mathematics classroom teacher, academic coach, specialist, building administrator, K-12 district and state level mathematics supervisor, and the PK-12 STEM/Math Coordinator and Equity Specialist for the state of Utah. She is the co-author of Transform Your Math Class Using Asset-based Teaching and Learning and founder of JHoney Math, LLC. She supports agencies (states and districts) with standards, pathways, MTSS, and policy implementation and designs/provides professional learning services to special education and general education leaders and educators nationally. She is a Past President of the Association of State Supervisors of Mathematics (ASSM), serves on the Executive Board of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), on the Executive Committee of the Conference Board for Mathematical Sciences (CBMS), and on the Committee for the Mathematical Sciences Education Board (MSEB). Over the years, she has been results-driven, with a focus on student engagement and ensuring every student has access to and success with meaningful mathematics.
Dave Kung, Ph.D. began his work in mathematics education as a mathematics professor at St. Mary's College of Maryland where he served various roles including department chair and vice president of the faculty senate. He served as Director of MAA Project NExT, providing professional development to a thousand new math professors, as Director of Policy under Uri Treisman at the Dana Center, as a coach for local high school teachers, and now as Executive Director of Transforming Post-Secondary Education in Mathematics (TPSE Math). His research includes many articles on knowledge for teaching including the co-authored book What Could They Possiblly Be Thinking?!? Understanding your college math students.
